How does a cacao ceremony actually work and what exactly does cacao do?
First, a little bit of history.
Cacao has a very rich history that goes back thousands of years. The Mayans and Aztecs used cacao for spiritual, medicinal and ceremonial purposes for inner awakening and creative development.
Many indigenous cultures used cacao in the form of a sacred drink in ceremonies, often led by a Shaman, to honor the Gods and Spirits, to celebrate beautiful events, but also to serve to guests.
During these ceremonies, people often sat in a circle, dancing, singing and making music.
The cacao drink served was made from the whole cacao bean, roasted and pressed into a paste. Ancient texts and vase images show that this paste was mixed with water, chili peppers and cornmeal and poured from pot to pot until it was covered with a thick layer of foam.
Current Cocoa Drink.
Today we make the cacao drink a little differently. We at Kakaw Spirit have made it a little easier for you. We have already added the herbs and we have chosen cacao powder, which dissolves easily and is light and less bitter / sour in taste. We have 4 Cacao blends inspired by the 4 elements: Earth, Water, Fire and Air. But if you prefer to drink it pure, we also have the Natural variant. If you still like it a little sweet, add some honey, agave or coconut syrup. If you want to know exactly how to make it, see the link to our '
How to make ' page here.
Cocoa ceremony.
I am a big fan of a cup of cacao every day, you can do a mini ceremony with it -
with yourself. See also the
video I made in which I tell you how to do that.
But many beautiful ceremonies are also given, in small and larger groups.
So cocoa is a plant medicine, a powerful, wise but above all feminine and soft energy. Which enables you to perceive what is happening in your heart in a very subtle and loving way. You will not hallucinate or trip from it.
If you are curious about what your subconscious and intuition have to tell you, cacao can help you.
Cocoa also contains a number of active substances, but they are also very mild.
Among other things, the substance tryptophan that ensures that your serotonin level gets a boost. This can make you feel softer and happier. In addition to this blissful feeling, cacao also has physical benefits. Cacao contains many antioxidants and minerals such as iron, zinc, chromium and magnesium. These minerals ensure that your body stays healthy and the antioxidants give your immune system a boost.
